Nick is an enthusiastic member of CoMA and a bass clarinet player. Before retirement, he was founder and senior partner of a large NHS practice for 23 years, during which time he ran the practice finances and managed its growth from zero to over 12,000 patients. WebsiteBeing composer, arranger, contemporary violist and teacher, Nathanael Gubler approaches music from many, contrasting angles. He has performed in the National Youth Orchestra of Switzerland and countless chamber music ensembles. At the Royal College of Music, he studied with Dai Fujikura and Jonathan Cole and was awarded with a Clifton Parker Award and the Elgar Memorial Prize. His works have been performed in Switzerland, Canada, Thailand, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Brazil. Current projects include a piece for chamber ensemble for the Lucerne Festival, a composition for three high voices as well as an arrangement of Debussy’s Cello Sonata (for cello and strings). As a performer, Nathanael recently appeared at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.
WebsiteListenpony is a concert series, commissioning body and record label for new and old and pop music. It is run by three composers, who programme classical music, both new and old, alongside a variety of other genres including folk, jazz and pop. Concerts take place in beautiful and unusual venues, and each event, in collaboration with different artists, presents a diverse collection of music broken up into 20-minute sets. Each of their collaborators bring their own particular repertoire as well as the new music commissioned for them. Their unique atmosphere allows the audience to experience a close connection with the music, as well as with the musicians themselves.
